Improving Social Science Research Computing — July/October 2002
Purpose
With the University's social science research computing environment aging and having reached its capacity, there is growing concern that Northwestern may not be able to attract potential faculty and graduate students because it lacks a robust computational environment for social science research. Equally important, current faculty may respond to recruiting efforts by other universities that can offer better computing resources and more extensive support.
