Video Encyclopedia of the Twentieth Century

The Video Encyclopedia is a collection of motion picture film and videotape recording the social, political and cultural history of the 20th Century from 1893 to 1989. The original (analog video) version of the Video Encyclopedia is currently in use at over 1,500 schools and universities in the US. In its original collection format--83 hours of video content stored on 42 laserdisks--its use by students and faculty was bound by the constraints of dedicated viewing-stations and limited search-and-retrieval mechanisms.
