Job Summary

The Systems Analyst/programmer is a business analyst, designer and developer which support existing applications.
The incumbent must be an experienced software developer with experience in Java, web frameworks, Oracle, PL/SQL, UNIX scripting, JDeveloper, or Eclipse IDE, and have strong business analysis and technical skills.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Providing level 1 support and maintenance for enterprise applications;
  • Engaging with customers to gather business requirements, develop specifications, architect the system, reviewing technologies to use and perform development using Java, web frameworks, Oracle, PL/SQL, UNIX scripting, and JDeveloper, or Eclipse IDE;
  • Working closely with other team members on all projects in project work break down;
  • Developing architectural topology, documentation, help or user guides for all the projects;
  • Collaborating on knowledge transfer, mentoring junior team members, reporting on regular basis to management on project progress;
  • Performing related duties as required or assigned.
  • Performing other related duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills and abilities may be acquired;
  • Three years experience in a professional information technology environment developing application software;
  • Experience using a systematic approach for problem analysis and resolution as well as the resourceful evaluation of solution alternatives;
  • Ability to effectively present ideas verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with a broad cross-section of the University community;
  • Sound oral and written communication skills;
  • Three years experience with Java/J2EE technologies, web frameworks, Oracle, PL/SQL, UNIX scripting;
    one's own team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SOA, SSO integrations, Oracle/web Logic app server, ADF/MVC  frameworks;
  • Exposure to reporting technologies such as COGNOS and subversion version control software;
  • Experience with JDeveloper development environment;
  • Knowledge of Student Loan processing, or Financial Aid processing in a higher education environment;
