Set Up for Online Directory (Entourage) 

Note: This page covers configuring your e-mail client to use Northwestern's Online Directory (LDAP) for Entourage. The instructions provided only cover the latest version of that particular client we support. Instructions for previous versions may be similar, but not exact.

The instructions below are for the Mac OS X version of the client. NUIT Support for MacOS 9.x and below has been discontinued. Please see End of Support for Mac OS 9.x (Faculty and Staff) for more information.

1. Select Tools => Accounts.... A window similar to the following will appear:

2. Select New => Directory Service.... A window similar to the following will appear:
   

   LDAP Account Settings Window

   1. Type Northwestern LDAP into the Account Name: field.
   2. Type directory.northwestern.edu into the LDAP Server: field.
3. Select Options. A window similar to the following will appear:
   

   LDAP Options Window

   1. Type 100 into the Maximum number of searches to return: field.
   2. Type dc=northwestern,dc=edu into the Search base: field.
4. Click OK to save your changes.
