Migrate Eudora Data into Entourage

This procedure will take you through the proper steps for migrating your Eudora messages and address book data into Entourage. These instructions only pertain to the latest version of Entourage that we support, however they may be similar enough to also be appropriate for previous versions.

Note: Please be aware that migrating your Eudora messages may not migrate any attachments that are included with those messages. Your attachments however will still be accessible though Eudora at anytime in the Attachments Folder should you need them. NUIT recommends that if you wish to delete Eudora from your hard drive, you should first archive any attachments that you would like to save.

Note: If Eudora is setup for using POP, you need to make sure that Eudora is set to NOT leave mail on the server. Please review Configuring Eudora for Macintosh to use POP to make sure that the Leave mail on server checkbox is unchecked.

  1. Quit out of Eudora if it is open.
  2. Launch Entourage.
  3. Select File => Import…. A window similar to the following will appear:

  7. Click the right arrow button in the lower right-hand corner. A window similar to the following will appear:
    Import Eudora Data Step 05

    Import Eudora Data Step 05

  8. Navigate to the Eudora Folder.

Note: There are three possible locations for the Eudora Folder depending on your operating system and which version of Eudora you initially installed on your computer:

    System Folder
If you initially installed Eudora under OS 9.0 and below, the Eudora Folder is located in the System Folder under the following path: Macintosh HD:System Folder:Eudora Folder, where Macintosh HD is the name of the startup drive.
    Documents Folder
If you initially installed Eudora under Mac OS 9.1, the Eudora Folder is located in the System Folder under the following path: Macintosh HD:Documents:Eudora Folder, where Macintosh HD is the name of the startup drive.
    Users Documents Folder
If you initially installed Eudora under Mac OS X, the Eudora Folder is located in the Documents folder of the user's Home directory: Macintosh HD/Users/user name/Documents/Eudora Folder/, where Macintosh HD is the name of the startup drive, and user name is the log-in name of the current user.

If you have difficulty finding this file, please call the NUIT Support Center at 491-HELP (491-4357).

  9. Select the Eudora Folder, then click the Choose button. Once the migrate is complete, a window similar to the following will appear:
