Set Up for Online Directory (Outlook)
Note: This page covers configuring your e-mail client to use Northwestern's Online Directory (LDAP) directory for Outlook. The instructions provided only cover the latest version of that particular client we support. Instructions for previous versions may be similar, but not exact.

From the Tools menu, select E-mail Accounts?. A window similar to the following will appear:

Select the Address Books tab. A window similar to the following will appear:

Click the New ? button. A window similar to the following will appear:

Select the Internet Directory Service (LDAP) radio button, then click Next. A window similar to the following will appear:

Type directory.northwestern.edu into the Server Name: field, then click the More Settings?button . A window similar to the following will appear:

Click OK. A window similar to the following will appear:

Type Northwestern LDAP into the Display Name: field, then click the Search tab. A window similar to the following will appear:

- Type 100 into the Specify the maximum number of entries you wish to return after a successful search: field.
- Type dc=northwestern,dc=edu into the Custom: field.

Click OK to save your changes. A window similar to the following will appear:

Click Next. A window similar to the following will appear:

- Click Finish.
