Collaboration Services: Forward E-mail to a Different Address in Outlook 2010

  1. Open Outlook 2010.
  2. In the mail screen, click rules and select manage rules & alerts in the drop down.

  3. In the rules and alerts screen, click New Rule.

  4. In the Rules Wizard, select Apply rule on messages I receive in the Start from a blank rule section and click Next.

  5. The Selection condition(s) window will open.  Here, simply click Next.  A box will open stating “This rule will be applied to every message you receive.  Is this correct?”  Click Yes.

    The Rules Wizard window for selecting conditions. Everything should be left blank. After hitting next, a warning will pop up warning that the rule will be applied to every message received. Yes should be clicked.

  6. The Select action(s) window will open.  Click the check box next to forward it to people or public group.  Then, in the section labeled Step 2: Edit the rule description, click the underline people or public group text.

  7. The Rule Address window will open:
    1. If you are forwarding to an address that is already in Exchange, type the e-mail address or name that you wish to forward to into the Search bar and click Go.  Matching results will appear the window.  Click the result you want and then click the To button.  The e-mail address will appear in the text box next to To.  You can add multiple addresses at this point.  When you are finished, click Done.

    2. If you are forwarding to an address not in Exchange or an external address such a Gmail, simply type the address(es) into the text box next to the To button and click Okay.

  8. The address(es) you selected will now appear listed in the Step 2 text box.  Click Finish.  The rule will now appear in the Rule’s list.

  9. Make sure the box next to the rule is checked and Click OK.  This account will now forward all mail to your selected addresses.
