University Network of Information Technology Specialists (UNITS)
University Network of Information Technology Specialists (UNITS) representatives are local technical support contacts for University departments or schools. Because UNITS representatives are familiar with their local environments and the needs of their users, they provide a first line of support for their areas. They are often called upon to assist with software testing and evaluation, and provide valuable feedback on a variety of NUIT projects.
NUIT Distributed Support Services (DSS) distributes information to UNITS, offers guidance on NUIT-related issues, and responds to queries posted to the UNITS listserv.
Among the perks of being a UNITS representative:
- Receive the latest information regarding NUIT services and rollouts.
- Easily access other technical experts at the University for assistance.
- Decrease redundant research for technical solutions.
- Explore new technical opportunities at quarterly gatherings, "Third Thursday" meetings, and vendor events.
- Have first access to technical training opportunities.
