Moving Off-Campus? Get NUIT and FM Involved
Fall 2006
If your group is planning to move to an off-campus facility, check with NUIT and Facilities Management (FM) first. An updated University policy addresses technology infrastructure required when an organization moves to a non-University owned building.
Developed in partnership with the offices of Budget, Controller, and FM, the NUIT policy aims to ensure consistent and quality communications infrastructure for all University groups — on and off-campus alike.
All Northwestern organizations, programs, and affiliates must receive the same network services — including voice, data, and video — so relocations require an assessment of the off-campus building's existing infrastructure. It is vital that NUIT and FM be involved early in any relocation process to assess and analyze the best options for upgrading, if necessary, and the related costs for the relocating organization.
For more information, the Non-University Owned Building Infrastructure Policy is available in the Policies section of the NUIT Web site.
