2EAST: New Technology Series
In partnership with the University Library, these presentations are specifically intended for faculty who want to take advantage of the teaching and research capabilities of emerging technologies. Upcoming events include:
December 6 — Clickers in the Classroom
Have you ever asked yourself these questions, "Are my students listening?", or "Are those blank stares the result of boredom or confusion?" Now you can discover what your students are comprehending. Student Response Systems, also known as clickers, allow professors to pose questions and instantaneously view students' responses. Please join Martina Bode, Senior Lecturer in the Mathematics department for a demonstration of how she uses clickers to engage students and address their learning challenges. This session will demonstrate the latest version of the clicker hardware, XR and will discuss the latest developments from NU's student response system vendor.
December 13 — Archival Imaging: An Introduction to the NUAMPS Digitization Process
Stefani Foster, AT Photographer and Image Specialist, will present an overview of the production set-up, process and output of the NUIT AT NUAMPS digitization studio. The range of on-site options and acquisition platforms, as well as some presentation models for the resulting work, will be demonstrated. An introduction to the Winterton Collection digital imaging project currently underway will be the main focus of the presentation, but other recent acquisition projects in the studio and in the field will be presented as well.
