Students Teaching Students

Students Teaching Students (STS) is a new student group sponsored by NUIT Academic & Research Technologies. STS provides an opportunity for Northwestern students to learn new IT skills, enhance current technical expertise, and apply new technologies.

All sessions are free of charge and taught by fellow students in a fun workshop environment. Previous computer experience is not necessary. For more information and registration, click on a presentation title below.

STS has previously created custom sessions for the Master of Science in Engineering Design and Innovation program (MS-EDI). Kim Hoffmann, Associate Director of the MS-EDI program, approached us to help her students use video as a documentation tool for their design project.

Our session on Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro familiarized students with video editing software and provided them with the tools and skills they needed to get started.

  • Use STS to quickly teach your students a technical skill or help integrate a new technology into your course.
  • E-mail James Altman to learn more.
