Set Up Your Android Mobile Device

Android is a mobile phone operating system developed by Google. It is unique because Google is actively developing the platform and providing it at no cost to hardware manufacturers and phone carriers who want to use Android on their devices.

Mobile devices built on the Android platform, such as the T-Mobile G1, come with many Google services installed, including Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Web search. Google is also the default Web page for the Web browser.

To use Android, you will need to activate a data plan in addition to your voice plan. An Android phone cannot be activated without a data plan enabled.

The platform will continue to evolve as the developer community works together to build innovative mobile applications.
