Set Up @u.northwestern.edu for iPhone

This page provides set up instructions for @u.northwestern.edu e-mail using an iPhone or iPod Touch OS V2.0 and higher.

  1. Enable IMAP in your @u account by going to Settings. Then select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Mail.
  4. Add account and select Other.
  5. Enter your name, your entire @u.northwestern.edu e-mail address, and your account password (different from your NetID password).
  6. In the New Account, Incoming Mail Server screen, enter imap.gmail.com as the Host Name, your entire @u.northwestern.edu e-mail address, and your account password.

  7. In the Outgoing mail server screen , enter smtp.gmail.com as the Host Name, your entire @u.northwestern.edu e-mail address, and your account password. Select Save.

  8. In Settings > Mail > Accounts > Advanced, make sure the port is 993, authentication is password, and Use SSL is On. Select Save.
