A listserv is an electronic mailing service that offers an efficient way to disseminate information to large numbers of people using a single e-mail address.
Features and Options
Mailing lists are an easy way to reach a lot of people very quickly by automating the distribution of e-mail to all those who subscribe to the mailing list. Mailing lists have been a critical component of scholarly collaboration. Many colleges and universities also use them to facilitate and enhance classroom education.
Northwestern faculty, staff, and students can subscribe to appropriate lists and/or apply online to request creation of list as long as the list complies with the University's Listserv Policy.
