TCP Stack Tuning

TCP stack tuning is a necessary step in getting the maximum throughput on 100Mbps links or greater. An untuned TCP stack will max out at about 40Mbps or 5Mbytes/sec (which is the way many programs report throughput). To increase the throughput, you'll need to change the default TCP parameters (this is called "tuning" the TCP stack).
