Set Up Mergic VPN for Palm

  1. Open Mergic VPN.
  2. Select Mergic VPN => Configurations => New.
    1. Type NU VPN into the VPN Name: field.
    2. Type your NetID into the User Name: field.
    3. Type vpn-public.vpn.northwestern.edu into the VPN Server Name or Address: field.
  3. Select Mergic VPN => Options => Connection Setup….
  4. Click New….
    1. Type Mergic VPN into the Name: field.
    2. Select your connection type.
      • If you are using a Palm, select MVPN from the Via: drop-down menu.
      • If you are using a Handspring, select MVPN to PC from the Connection Method: drop-down menu.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Done.
  7. Select Mergic VPN => Options => Network Setup….
    1. Select Preferences => Service => New.
    2. Type NUWLAN into the Service: field.
    3. Type your NetID into the User Name: field.
  8. Select Mergic VPN from the Connection: drop-down menu.
  9. Click Done.
  10. Click Sign In.
