Change a WINS Configuration to DNS

  1. On your desktop, right-click My Network Places, then select Properties.
  2. Right-click Local Area Connection, then select Properties to open the
    Local Area Connection Properties window.

  3. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), then click Properties to open the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties window.

  4. Click Advanced... to open the Advanced TCP/IP Settings window.

  5. Select the WINS tab.
  6. Under WINS addresses, in order of use, select the IP address(es) shown, then click Remove.
