Approved Senders in EDS

The Approved Senders page lists e-mail addresses that are known to be legitimate sources of e-mail.

Sometimes e-mail is filtered out and blocked from reaching your inbox, even though the message is from a friend or a company you'd like to hear from. It's easy to add the sender's address to your Approved Senders list, thus allowing mail from that sender to bypass the EDS junk e-mail filters.

Use the Approved Senders feature to add or delete senders from the Approved Senders list.

Add an Approved Sender

  1. On the left navigation menu, click Approved Senders to display the Approved Senders page, then click Add Sender to open the Add Sender text box.
  2. Enter the valid e-mail address of the sender you wish to approve.
    • Note: Valid e-mail addresses are of the form user@host.domain (for example, phoney@junk e-mailer.com).
    • You can use the asterisk (*) as a wildcard to indicate an entire domain. For instance, adding **@hotmail.com to your list of Approved Senders will allow any messages originating from hotmail.com to reach your inbox.
    • Do not add your own e-mail address to the Approved Sender list.
  3. Click Add Sender. The Approved Senders List page is displayed with the approved sender added.

Delete an Approved Sender

  1. On the left navigation menu, click Approved Senders to display the Approved Senders page.
  2. On the Approved Senders list, under the Sender column, select the check box(es) beside the sender(s) you want to remove.
  3. Click Delete Sender. The Approved Senders page is displayed with the sender(s) removed from the list.
