Tips to Reduce Junk E-mail in Outlook
Outlook 2000/XP (Windows)
Create a Message Rule (Mail Filter):
- Highlight the message you want to create a rule from.
- Right-click on the message and select Create Rule… from the contextual menu.
- Check the conditions you want to check for, then click Next.
- Check the actions you want the rule to create for messages, then click Next.
- Check any exceptions to the rule (if there are any), then click Next.
- Type a name for the rule into the Please specify a name for this rule: field.
- If you do not want this rule to run automatically, un-check the Turn on this rule checkbox.
- Click Finish.
Outlook 6 (Windows)
Create a Message Rule (Mail Filter):
- Select Tools => Message Rules => Mail….
- Click New….
- Check the conditions you want to check for in the top field, then press <Tab>.
- Check the actions you want the rule to create for messages in the middle field.
- Type a name for the rule into the 4. Name of the rule: field.
- Click OK.
Outlook 5.0.5 (Macintosh)
Create a Message Rule (Mail Filter):
- Select Tools => Rules.
- Click New….
- Type a name for the rule into the Rule name: field.
- Select the conditions you want to check for in the top field.
- Select the actions you want the rule to create for messages in the middle field.
- Click OK.
