I purchased a new Adobe product license directly through SHI and a new version has been released. Will I get the new version for free as I did before?

Upgrade eligibility is determined by the maintenance that may be attached to that license. NUIT previously sold and distributed licenses with respective maintenance, providing this upgrade eligibility in the past. Since SHI is now processing orders, we have given the University community an opportunity to selectively choose this "ala carte" maintenance option. License orders are eligible for free upgrades only if the license and its respective maintenance product were purchased simultaneously when the order was submitted to SHI.

Why would I want to purchase maintenance at the same time I am purchasing my Adobe license?

When you do, you become eligible for free version upgrades that are released during the life of that contract, which currently runs until October 31, 2007. Publishers generally release one new version at least every 1-2 years. Adding maintenance to your license purchase is just a fraction of the cost of purchasing a license for a new version when it is released, thus providing a cost savings to you.

I forgot to purchase the respective maintenance for my Adobe license order. Can I purchase it separately?

This cannot be purchased separately. Adobe requires the respective maintenance purchase to be submitted simultaneously on the same order with the new license.

Can an old Adobe Acrobat license continue getting free upgrades until the Adobe contract ends in 2007?

Yes, if there has been a continuity of maintenance coverage on the license.

You will need to locate the media that would have been purchased at the time of the license purchase to reinstall the software.

Does SHI have a return policy?

Yes, have your department contact SHI, who services our agreement. They have a 30-day return policy.

I purchased software license(s)/media from TRC and I want to return what I purchased for a refund. What is TRC's return policy?

TRC stopped accepting returns on February 28, 2007 and will no longer be able to accept returns after this date.

I purchased a software license from TRC, but I do not have the media and I need to install/reinstall the software. What should I do?

Please contact questions@software.northwestern.edu and provide your TRC order number. They will be able to provide you with a price quote for the media from SHI, if it is still available.

I am running Windows Vista on my computer. Are there any compatibility issues with Adobe software that I should be aware of?
