Order
- To order, visit NUIT's software provider, SHI.
- It is suggested that both license and media be purchased on one order from NUIT's software provider unless your department already possesses the media.
Install and License
- Operating system — Windows or Mac.
- Adobe products are available for Windows and Macintosh.
- Licenses are available only to Northwestern University departments, faculty, and staff for the purpose of University-related business or research, and must be installed on University-owned computers.
- Adobe's licenses are perpetual, providing the purchaser with the right to use the software under the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement. A single license allows the purchaser the right to run the software on one computer.
- Home use provision — Staff and faculty members may purchase discounted Adobe software for home use from Northwestern's software partner, e-academy. For more information, please see the Adobe For Home Use page.
- Software installation media (CDs) are available for all Adobe products, but media cannot be purchased without a license. Licensing options include:
- License-only — Users who previously purchased a site-licensed software CD can acquire one or more licenses as needed and use their existing media for installation.
- Maintenance — The maintenance plan assures access to all Adobe upgrades for covered products during the life of the upgrade plan. Upgrade plans run through October 31, 2009, at which time the plan can be renewed for an additional two years. Maintenance must be purchased at the time of the software license and media order.
