Mathematica for Faculty and Staff

Mathematica software analyzes data sets, solves complex differential equations, and develops an entire solution for fast, high-precision numeric and symbolic computation. Mathematica also provides 2D and 3D data visualization and programming capabilities.

Order

  • Visit NUIT's site licensed software site to order.
    • Mathematica v8.0 (Windows)
    • Mathematica v8.0 (Mac and Intel-Mac)
    • Mathematica v8.0 (Linux/Unix)
  • After placing the order, you should receive a License Order Confirmation e-mail from SHI. Once your license order is approved, you will be sent a follow-up e-mail containing your license code and instructions on how to install Mathematica. If you do not receive the license code e-mail within 2 business days of your order, please forward your order confirmation to consultant@northwestern.edu and request a new license code be sent.

Install and License

  • Software must be installed on University-owned computers.
  • Only single licenses are available.
  • The license period for Mathematica coincides with the University's fiscal year, beginning on September 1 and expiring on August 31. Those who purchase a FY12 license will be eligible to receive free upgrades until the end of that fiscal year, August 31, 2012.
  • Operating system — Windows, Mac, and Linux/Unix
  • Home use provision — This software can be used on personally owned computers by licensed users for university purposes.
  • Users can request a home use license by going to the Wolfram Home Use Portal and entering the license information for their purchased license.
