Microsoft Office

Northwestern's volume purchase agreement with Microsoft makes software products available at significant discounts. Departments are encouraged to make purchases in this way to help maintain the volume discount program. The Select 6.0 agreement expires March 31, 2009.

• To order Microsoft titles, visit NUIT's software provider, SHI, or call 1-800-527-6389 x8331 or x6020 or teamshi@shi.com and indicate that you are with Northwestern.

• Orders may be placed via CUFS number, fully processed Northwestern University purchase order (PD), or procurement card (P-card). Purchase orders must include:

product and version        quantity quote number e-mail address full shipping address

part number price full contact name phone number

• If your department requires purchase of the media, order both it and the license on one PO from NUIT's software provider, thereby consolidating the license record for auditing purposes.

License and Install

• Eligible Users — Available to Northwestern University departments, faculty, and staff for the purpose of University-related business or research.
• Software must be installed on University-owned computers.
• Home use provision — Faculty and staff may order one copy of an Student Select Office Suite from NUIT's software provider.
• Upgrades — Upgrades are no longer offered, a new license must be purchased if a newer version is required.
• Product use rights — Licensees must read Microsoft's product use rights for restrictions on use, especially as rights apply to derivative and redistributable works.
