Microsoft Office Requirements

Office 2003 Standard:

• Pentium III or equivalent processor recommended; 233-megahertz (MHz) required
• Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 or later; Windows XP or later
• 128 MB RAM or above recommended
• 260 MB of available hard disk space
• Optional installation files cache (recommended) requires an additional 250MB of available hard disk space

Office 2007 Standard:

• 500 mHz processor or higher
• 256 megabyte (MB) RAM or higher (512 MB RAM or higher recommended for Outlook Instant Search. Grammar and contextual spelling in Word is not turned on unless the machine has 1 GB memory)
• 1.5 GB hard drive; a portion of this disk space will be freed after installation if the original download package is removed from the hard drive
• Microsoft Windows(R) XP with Service Pack (SP) 2, Windows Server(R) 2003 with SP1, or later operating system
• Certain inking features require running Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition or later. Speech recognition functionality requires a close-talk microphone and audio output device. Information Rights Management features require access to a Windows 2003 Server with SP1 or later running Windows Rights Management Services.
• Connectivity to Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 or later is required for certain advanced functionality in Outlook 2007. Dynamic Calendars require server connectivity. Instant Search requires Microsoft Windows Desktop Search 3.0.
• Connectivity to Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with SP1 or later running Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services is required for certain advanced collaboration functionality. Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 is required for certain advanced functionality PowerPoint Slide Library requires Office SharePoint Server 2007.
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, 32 bit browser only
  

Office 2003 Professional:

• Pentium III or equivalent processor recommended; 233-megahertz (MHz) required; Pentium 4 or equivalent preferred; optional installation of Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2003 requires a 450-MHz or faster processor (Pentium III recommended)
• Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 or later; Windows XP or later
• 128 MB RAM or above recommended; optional installation of Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2003 requires 256 MB of RAM
• 400 MB of available hard disk space; 190MB additional hard disk space for Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager
• Optional installation files cache (recommended) requires an additional 200MB of available hard disk space

Office 2007 Professional Plus:

• 500 mHz processor or higher

Office XP (Standard or Professional)

Office XP Standard or Pro can be requested as a downgrade to the Office 2003 license. System requirements can be reviewed at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;285342&Product=offxp.

Office 2004 for Mac Professional

• 700 MHz native PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor (Please note that upgrade cards or accelerators are not supported)
• Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later; Mac OS X 10.3 is required for the Power Mac G5
• 512mb RAM
• 3gb of available hard-disk space

Office X for Mac Professional can be requested as a downgrade to the Office 2004 for Mac Professional license. System requirements are as follows:

Office 2004 for Mac Standard

• G3, Mac OS X compatible processor or faster
• 256 MB of RAM
• 450 MB of available hard-disk space for recommended installation of Office; 630 MB for a full drag-and-drop installation
• Mac OS X version 10.2.8 or later

Office X for Mac Professional

• G3, Mac OS X compatible processor or faster
• Mac OSX version 10.1 or later
• 128 MB RAM
• 196 MB of available hard disk space for a default installation

Note: The hard disk should be in Mac OS Extended (HFS+) format, the default format for Mac OS X. Although you can perform a drag-and-drop installation of and run Office X from a hard disk that is in another format, Microsoft does not currently support such a configuration. To determine the format of your hard disk, see the Devices and Volumes tab of Apple System Profiler.

Additionally, to run Virtual PC for Mac 6.1 included in this product, you will need:

• 500MHz native G3 or G4 Macintosh with a CD-ROM drive (Please note that Virtual PC for Mac Version 6.1 does not run on the G5 Macintosh, nor are upgrade cards or accelerators supported)
• Mac OS X 10.1.5, or 10.2.1 (Jaguar) or later

And, to use Windows XP Professional Guest OS with Virtual PC for Mac 6.1, you will need:

• 256MB physical RAM for Mac OS X
• 2GB free hard disk space

Office 2008 for Mac

• Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (500 MHz or faster) processor
• Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later version
• 512 MB of RAM or more
• 1.5 GB of available hard disk space; Hierarchical File System (HFS)+ hard disk format (also known as Mac OS Extended or HFS Plus)
• DVD drive (or connection to a local area network if you are installing over a network)
• 1024 x 768 pixel or higher resolution
• Mouse or compatible input device
