Symantec AntiVirus for Windows
Symantec AntiVirus is Northwestern's licensed software application for protecting your desktop computer against viruses. These pages cover installing and configuring the Symantec AntiVirus software for Windows.
To install Symantec AntiVirus, please download and install the application from NUIT's software provider before going through the installation and configuration instructions. Alternately, you may download the application if you cannot access the software through our software provider:
Maintenance patches:
NOTE: The Windows Vista 10.2.322 maintenance patch corrects issues with unreadable encrypted EFS files. Download this patch if you have already downloaded Symantec for Windows Vista (32 bit version).
Symantec for Windows Vista downloads are offered for 32-bit operating systems. If you need to install the 64-bit version of Symantec for Windows Vista or the 64-bit version of the 10.2.322 maintenance patch, please contact consultant@northwestern.edu.
