Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems
Northwestern's volume purchase agreement with Microsoft makes software products available at significant discounts. Departments are encouraged to make purchases in this way to help maintain the volume discount program. The Select 6.0 agreement expires March 31, 2009.

It is suggested that both license and media be purchased on one order from NUIT's software provider unless your department already possesses the media.

License and Install

Eligible Users — Available to Northwestern University departments, faculty, and staff for the purpose of University-related business or research.

Software must be installed on University-owned computers.

Home use provision — Faculty and staff may order one copy of an Employee Select Windows Vista Business Upgrade from NUIT's software provider. To check upgrade eligibility, refer to the Quick Reference.

Product use rights — Licensees must read Microsoft's product use rights for restrictions on use, especially as rights apply to derivative and redistributable works.
