ResponseCard XR Hardware Update Instructions for Mac

Northwestern students using a TurningPoint ResponseCard XR clicker, should update the firmware in the device by fall 2009 to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements to update the ResponseCard XR (clicker) firmware:

1. Hardware Updater for Mac OS X.3 or higher is free from Turning Technologies
2. Computer Requirements:
   -Internet Connection
   -Mac OS 10.3 or higher
   -Standard USB 1.1/2.0 port
3. Standard USB Cable type A to mini B
4. ResponseCard XR

Download Instructions

1. Go to Turning Technologies.
2. Select Download TurningPoint.
3. Under Mac Software, select Hardware Updater.
4. Complete the form and click Submit. The Firmware will automatically download.
5. Click Hardware Updater for Mac.
6. When prompted, save the file to your computer.
7. Upon completion of download, double-click setup.dmg.

Installation Instructions

1. Double click Hardware Updater.dmg .
2. Attach the USB cable to the computer.
3. Launch Hardware Updater.
4. Attach the other end of the USB cable to the ResponseCard XR.
5. Wait for the software to find the device.
6. Click Update Firmware.

If your ResponseCard XR device receives an error message, reset it by re-inserting a battery. If it still has an error message, call Turning Point at 1-866-746-3015 for assistance.
