ResponseCard XR Hardware Update Instructions for PC

Northwestern students using a TurningPoint ResponseCard XR clicker, should update the firmware in the device by fall 2009 to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements to update the ResponseCard XR firmware:

1. Free Hardware Updater for PC from Turning Technologies
2. Computer Requirements:
   -Internet Connection
   -Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Vista
   -Standard USB 1.1/2.0 port
3. Standard USB Cable type A to mini B
4. ResponseCard XR (clicker)

Download Instructions

1. Go to Turning Technologies .
2. Select Download TurningPoint .
3. Under PC Software, select Hardware Updater.
4. Complete the form and click Submit. The firmware will automatically download.

Installation Instructions

1. Double-click Hardware Updater.exe.
2. Attach the USB cable to the computer.
3. Launch Hardware Updater.
4. Attach the Response Card XR to the other end of the USB cable.
5. Wait for the software to find the device.
6. Click Update Firmware.

It takes a few minutes to update the firmware. Do not stop during the process. When you have finished, quit the Firmware Updater application.

If your ResponseCard XR Device receives an error message, reset it by re-inserting a battery. If it still has an error message, call Turning Point at 1-866-746-3015 for assistance.
