Residence Hall Wireless Access
University residence halls are equipped for wireless connectivity to the Northwestern Network. For your convenience, configure your laptop for wireless access before you get to campus. NUIT has provided a few quick links to jump start your connection process:
- Windows Vista users need to download and run the Vista wizard.
- Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) users should follow these simple steps for connectivity.
If your computer has an older operating system, you can still prepare to get connected before arriving on campus:
- Windows XP users need to download and run the XP wizard. You may also need to download and install the WPA2 patch from Microsoft.
- Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) users, configure your machine before you authenticate to the network.
If a manual set up is more your style, follow these step-by-step directions for Windows Vista and Windows XP systems.
Look for “NU Wireless Access” signs around campus for additional wireless access point locations.
As a reminder, it is strongly recommended that you bring an Ethernet cable to campus to access NUTV, as it is only accessible via a wired connection.
