Mobile Telephone Services
Cell phones are a convenient communication tool; however, with many choices available, searching for a phone and service plan can seem overwhelming. NUIT encourages you to use this site to become a more informed buyer.
Note: NUIT neither endorses nor recommends any mobile phone vendor or service.
Organize your search using the following steps:
- Clarify how you plan to use your mobile phone. Review the considerations for Business Use and/or Personal Use.
- Narrow your list of potential devices, features, providers, and service plans accordingly from the Mobile Phone Features page.
- Research your top picks under Service Providers and Plans. Poll family, friends, and coworkers, and read online product reviews.
- Order a phone through your department (faculty and staff only) if applicable or from a local provider. Before buying, ensure that your provider offers a trial period (often 30 days from purchase).
- Test your new phone during the trial period. Evaluate reception in various settings, observe minute usage, and experiment with your chosen features.
