Posted Date: 13 Mar 2006

Effective Date: 13 Mar 2006

Student filmmakers are encouraged to enter the third annual NUIT MediaWorks Lab Promo Contest, sponsored by Northwestern University Information Technology (NUIT) Academic & Research Technologies. The contest seeks 30-second commercials to raise campus awareness of the resources available for student production.

Commercials must use the MediaWorks Lab for some aspect of production, which provides digital tools for editing video and audio, scanning and manipulating photos, and developing Web content and animation. It is located on the lower level of the University Library.

Prizes for the top two commercial entries include an iPod nano and a 60GB video iPod. In addition, the best entries will also be screened at the Flicker Film Festival, May 5-7, 2006. Entries should promote campus-wide student use of the MediaWorks Lab, and will be judged on creativity, strength of production, and overall effectiveness.

The contest is open to all Northwestern students. Entries are due by 4 p.m. on March 31, 2006, in the MediaWorks Lab drop box. Past contest winners can be viewed on the NUIT MediaWorks Lab Web site.
