Meeting Maker 8.5.3 to be Made Available for Windows and Macintosh

The latest version of Meeting Maker scheduling software, v. 8.5.3, is being made available by NUIT to Windows and Macintosh users. This represents a major upgrade to the Meeting Maker server and client software.

The upgrade will take place during the weekend of March 24. As a result, the Meeting Maker server will be unavailable from 10:00 p.m. Friday, March 24 through Sunday, March 26.

All current Meeting Maker users at Northwestern will upgrade to version 8.5.3.

Meeting Maker 8.5.3 features an improved, easier-to-use interface with a new "look and feel." Proposed meetings appear "penciled in" on your calendar while awaiting approval. You can display a proxy's calendar in a side-by-side view with your own, and view your calendar from any networked location with a fully-featured Web interface.

Northwestern's Meeting Maker server will be unavailable during the weekend of March 24-26 while the upgrade to version 8.5.3 takes place.

In preparation for the upgrade, Meeting Maker users should print a copy of their current MM schedule on or before Friday, March 24 for their reference. Palm users should synchronize their schedules on or before Thursday, March 23.

Users who need MM data that dates prior to March 24, 2004, should archive this information, as it will be purged during the upgrade and unavailable after Friday, March 24, 2006. Complete instructions for archiving with Windows and archiving with Macs can be found on the NUIT Web site.

Windows users will be prompted to upgrade the first time they launch Meeting Maker on or after Monday, March 27. Macintosh users will need to download and run the MM 8.5.3 installer available from NUIT.

Intellisync 5.3.4

Intellisync 5.3.4, a new version which is compatible with MM 8.5.3, will be available from NUIT for current Intellisync users. Please note that you must upgrade Meeting Maker first, uninstall your current version of Intellisync, then obtain and install Intellisync 5.3.4.

Note: The Meeting Maker Connector (MMCO) will be deployed sometime during Spring Quarter. NUIT will announce its availability to the University community.
