@u.northwestern.edu Group Accounts Available

The @u.northwestern.edu service recently expanded to enhance student group collaboration. University-recognized student groups can now collaborate the same way individual @u.northwestern.edu account holders collaborate: via @u.northwestern.edu group account e-mail, instant message, calendar, and documents and spreadsheets.

These unique, inclusive accounts allow eligible groups to:

  • Manage and publish group calendars
  • Share online documents
  • Collaborate with group members
  • Access archived documents
  • Choose a customized account name
  • Communicate in a "listserv-like" environment
  • Retain the group account – and its content – year after year (even when students change)

Impact on End User

@u.northwestern.edu group account holders can utilize a group account in a variety of ways. Examples include:
  • Coordinate meetings and post project plans and meeting minutes for Wildcat Philanthropy
  • Publicize the Wildcat Residence Hall group's fall activity schedule through the calendar publication page
  • Inform Wildcat Fraternity members of the upcoming meeting schedule with one click to your user group
  • University departments can advertise co-curricular activities to their students
  • Transfer group account ownership while keeping group documents for future access
Members of the University community interested in ultimate group collaboration are encouraged to complete and submit a Group Account Activation Form.
