Big Bucks Server to Retire March 31, 2008

Posted Date: 30 Jan 2008

Effective Date: 30 Jan 2008

Northwestern University Information Technology’s Computing Service will be retiring the Big Bucks ecommerce payment processing server on March 31, 2008. Northwestern’s Bursar’s Office has contracted with PayPal for use of their Payflow Link system as the recommended alternative. Payflow Link is equivalent in function to the Payflow Pro system currently running on Big Bucks and runs on PayPal’s secure servers.

Impact on End User

Ecommerce application owners who are currently using the Big Bucks server will need to transition to a new service by March 31, 2008. Several University ecommerce applications have already been seamlessly transitioned to Payflow Link. Migrating from Big Bucks to Payflow Link should require minimal effort.

For information about how to move to Payflow Link, please contact Jared Shields in the Bursar's Office at 847-461-3201 or e-mail j-shields@northwestern.edu .

If you are a currently using the Big Bucks server for your ecommerce application and do not think you will be able to transition to Payflow Link by the March 31 deadline, contact Kim Zelonis at 847-467-0284 or k-zelonis@northwestern.edu to discuss potential options.
