EndNote X1 Now Available for Download

NUIT is pleased to announce the latest release of EndNote X1 for Windows and Mac, now available free for download. EndNote X1 allows for online bibliographic database searches, reference and image organization, as well as bibliography publishing and management. 

The latest version of EndNote for Mac and Windows with the NU Toolkit is available as a free download for faculty, staff, and students from NUIT Site-licensed Software. New features for X1 include:

• A new Quick Search tool that searches all fields in a library or group
• The use of AppleScript® to automate and extend EndNote functions between applications
• Easy conversion of custom dictionaries from earlier versions of EndNote with the Dictionary Converter
• Support for PPC and Intel-based Mac computers
• EndNote for Windows Mobile / Pocket PC

It is important to backup EndNote libraries (including corresponding .DATA folders), custom styles, import filters, connection files, and spell check dictionaries, as well as any Word documents that use Cite While You Write before an EndNote X1 download.

Important Notes:

• No current versions of EndNote are compatible with Office 2008 for Mac (Word)
• The system requirements for EndNote X1 have changed; please review the system requirements for EndNote X1 before installing
• EndNote X1 for Windows is already patched with the EndNote X 1.0.1 patch
• EndNote X1 files are compatible across Windows and Mac platforms
