Director of Information Technology for Northwestern University-Qatar Named

Effective May 19, 2008, David Carr, Director of Telecommunications & Network Services (TNS), will begin his new role as Director of Information Technology/CIO for Northwestern University in Doha, Qatar.  David will lead Northwestern University Information Technology's (NUIT) efforts to deploy and support a technology infrastructure which will support faculty, staff, and students at Northwestern University-Q and cohesively link to the Northwestern University campuses.

David joined Northwestern in 1998. His technology expertise and management skills over the past ten years have been an important component in the successful planning and deployment of a number of new technologies across the University and will be key, as NUIT lays the groundwork to maintain a consistent level of network functionality and support to the newest Northwestern branch campus.

With this appointment, Timothy Ward, Associate Director of TNS has been appointed interim Director of TNS and continue to report to Associate Vice President of Cyberinfrastructure, Thomas Board.
