Scheduled Meeting Maker Maintenance
Posted Date: 01 May 2008
Effective Date: 30 May 2008
On Friday, May 30, 2008, Northwestern University Information Technology (NUIT) will perform regularly scheduled maintenance on the Meeting Maker (MM) database that will include purging all user calendar data older than fiscal year 2006 (September 1, 2005).
The MM server will be unavailable from 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1 while the purge takes place.
During this time, the Web client version of Meeting Maker will be unavailable; however, users may still have access to the desktop client for viewing purposes only. Users will be unable to make changes until the maintenance is complete.
This maintenance is in compliance with NUIT Meeting Maker Policies, and is necessary in order to ensure maximum performance to the University community.
Impact on End User |
As with any software maintenance, users are encouraged to print their current Meeting Maker schedules and synchronize personal digital assistants (PDAs) before the scheduled maintenance to ensure that a recent backup reference is available.
Users who wish to retain their old MM entries for future reference can easily export their data out of their Meeting Maker client application, prior to May 30. NUIT has provided easy step-by-step procedures for both Windows and Macintosh users to export their older data from the Meeting Maker server to their local hard drives.
