Associate Vice President of Cyberinfrastructure Appointed

Effective February 1, 2008, Thomas Board has been appointed Associate Vice President of Cyberinfrastructure.

As computing and telecommunication technologies continue to merge into an integrated cyber infrastructure, Tom, together with NUIT directors David Carr and Dana Nielson, will focus attention on providing an infrastructure that meets the needs of the University’s research, teaching, and administrative community, now and in the future.

With this appointment, the Computing Services and Telecommunications and Network Services teams will now report to the Associate Vice President of Cyberinfrastructure. These areas provide central computing, voice, data, and video networking to both Northwestern campuses.

In Tom's thirty years with the University, he has been in a number of roles within the IT operations and has successfully led many important projects that have enhanced the technology environment at the University.
