Cable TV in Evanston Buildings

Through an agreement with the City of Evanston cable TV franchise operator (i.e., local cable provider), NUIT can coordinate the installation of cable TV services to administrative and academic (non-residence) buildings on the Evanston campus. The requesting department must pay both to install the inside cabling as well as to bring the cable TV service network to the building itself (if necessary).

Installation of this service may take up to eight weeks, and is not generally available during the winter months.

Cost

$13.00 per TV outlet per month

Installation prices vary. There are two types of installations: inside wiring installations are done by the University; outside wiring installations are done by the City of Evanston cable TV franchise operator.

Ordering

An authorized departmental representative must communicate an order to Consulting Services including: location of existing cable wall taps or location of where new wall tap(s) should be installed, a contact person with their telephone number, and a Chart of Accounts number to fund the one-time and recurring charges.
