Research Collaborations and Academic & Research Technologies
Staff members of Academic & Research Technologies (ART), a department of Information Technology (IT), are available to collaborate with Northwestern researchers in
- writing research proposals for funding,
- partnering with NU faculty in the programming and systems development work of research grants, and
- consulting with NU researchers about promising new technology standards and compute systems for tackling research problems.
Academic & Research Technologies has expertise in a wide range of videoconferencing-related technologies, such as:
- High definition video
- Room design
- Desktop videoconferencing
- Streaming of events between sites using high quality audio/video (e.g. Master's Classes)
- Access Grid- based videoconferencing
- Streaming and archiving of videoconferences
Academic & Research Technologies also has expertise in a number of current research technologies, including:
- high-resolution imaging and video systems;
- digital workflow systems for research computations;
- parallel processing;
- emerging collaboration platforms;
- scientific visualization displays; and
- digital repositories.
Staff at ART are partners to current NSF, NIH, Augusta Webster, and Mellon Foundation grant projects at the University.
