Configuring RealPlayer for Windows

After installing RealPlayer, you may wish to configure settings for optimal playback of streaming video. These configuration instructons allow you to disable pop-up advertisements and background processes.

1. After installation is complete, launch RealPlayer from the Start menu if it is not already open.
2. In the RealPlayer application, from the Tools menu, select Preferences.
3. In the Automatic Services section in the left column of the window, click Message Center. A window similar to the following will appear:

4. Click Configure Message Center. A window similar to the following will appear:

5. In order to block pop-up ads and background processes in the RealPlayer software, uncheck the options as indicated. This will also disable automatic updating of the RealPlayer application. You may wish to enable this feature based on your personal preferences.
6. Click OK and close the remaining windows in RealPlayer.
