WebSSO Upgrade Overview
Northwestern Information Technology (IT) is upgrading the University's Web Single Sign-On (WebSSO) system, Online Passport. Here you will find information about what to expect during the upgrade timeframe, most notably a new look for both the Online Passport and Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) login pages, and where to go for additional support.
The upgraded WebSSO, a crucial infrastructure product that supports secure login access to over 600 applications and websites, will be applied to University applications like myHR, NUFinancials, CAESAR, Webex, Canvas, Box, and more beginning February 29, 2020, and continue in phases on a rolling basis through July 31, 2020. Northwestern IT is partnering with schools and departments to determine the timeline for various applications.
In tandem with the WebSSO upgrade schedule, applications with MFA already turned on, such as myHR, NUFinancials, CAESAR, and more, are also receiving an updated MFA login page beginning February 29 and continuing on a rolling basis. A side-by-side comparison of the current and upgraded MFA experience is below.

What to Expect
Please know that in addition to new login experiences, because the WebSSO upgrade is taking place in phases on a rolling basis, there is a five-month window of time where users will encounter both the upgraded and current versions of Online Passport and MFA, depending on the application you are accessing.
