Mobility at Northwestern

NUIT is committed to exploring mobile solutions that allow members of the Northwestern community to stay connected to University systems and services while both on campus and off campus.

Whether it's collaborating with colleagues, using a Web browser to conduct research online, managing your meeting schedule, or simply checking e-mail, the use of laptops, smartphones, and other digital mobile devices plays a critical role in how Northwestern students, faculty, and staff communicate.

There are over 1,800 wireless access points on both the Evanston and Chicago campus, so no matter where you are on campus, you can stay connected to Northwestern.

Choosing a Mobile Device

It is important to choose a mobile device that will support your level of use. To aid users in making an informed decision, basic, device-specific information on connecting to the Northwestern Network, device comparisons, and mobile computer features can be found on the Mobile Device Overview.

Northwestern YouTube – Watch University-produced videos on your iPhone, iPod touch, or other MP3 player.

Northwestern Mobile – Use Northwestern's customized app for real-time mobile access to University information, including news and events, campus maps and images, library resources, and the online directory.

Twitter – Follow Northwestern IT and receive instant technology updates wherever you are.
