Monitoring and Event Management services provide systems monitoring capabilities for IT services and underpinning technologies. Northwestern IT provides two monitoring service offerings, both based on central monitoring platforms.
Service Offerings
Monitoring as a Service
Service monitoring at Northwestern consists of several “opt-in” products and notification tools that provide application and functional support staff the ability to monitor the performance and health of University applications and respond to events or issues associated with them.
Event Assessment, Management, and Response Services
The Service Operations Center can provide management, monitoring, and response services for events generated by applications and servers hosted within the university data centers. This is accomplished via a 24x7 service operations staff housed in a state-of-the-art monitoring center.
