Server Management
Northwestern IT provides server management from the operating system layer up to the application stack depending on customer needs. Alongside available database management services, this allows administrators to leave server management in the hands of the platform services team to focus on the management of their applications.
Virtual Data Center Service
Northwestern provides virtual data center service via NUCloud, the University’s Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environment via a fee-based model that requires a two-year commitment. This offering allows administrators to manage virtual servers at the hypervisor level.
OS Patching
Northwestern IT provides OS patching services to help standardize the security and functional levels of servers throughout the Northwestern virtual data center environment. This includes regular security and OS patching within established patch windows.
Server Back Up as a Service
Northwestern IT provides incremental and full server backup and restore services to any group with a tenancy in the NUCloud environment.
Load Balancing
Load balancing services within Northwestern data centers provide scalability and redundancy to applications that can take advantage of virtualized web front-ends.
