Northwestern offers many ways to help your IT system authenticate or authorize users. This includes Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Shibboleth (SAMLv2), Active Directory, and LDAP.

For IT systems administrators:

To request SSO configuration for your on-campus application, please fill out this Request Access Form.

Multi-factor Authentication

Northwestern Information Technology provides Multi-factor Authentication technology, adding an extra layer of login protection for Northwestern systems that use NetIDs and can support Northwestern’s MFA platform.
