Effective Date: 24 Sep 2019

The Northwestern IT Technology Support Center, which provides technical support and guidance on University services and resources to the campus community, will operate with new hours for the 2019–20 academic year and one primary walk-in support location.

New Hours of Operation

Effective Tuesday, September 24, IT consultants will be available by phone and at the Technology Support Center in the University (Main) Library—which is where all walk-in support is now being directed—Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. During these hours, students, faculty, and staff can:

Back to School Weekend Support

While the Technology Support Center is closed on weekends throughout the academic year, consultants will be available via the channels above during peak times, including the first two weekends of the academic year (September 28–29 and October 5–6), during exams, and other dates to be determined. Please continue to check the Northwestern IT website throughout the year for updates.

Impact on the University Community

The Technology Support Center experiences a significant increase in requests for assistance from August through October—approximately 2,500 more contacts than the average monthly volume. With this in mind, students, faculty, and staff may experience longer than average hold times by phone and delayed responses to tickets during this time.

In addition to the options above, consider visiting the Northwestern Knowledge Base, which is available 24/7 for answers to commonly asked questions. For more on the services offered by the Technology Support Center, please visit the Get Help page.
