Register for Northwestern IT Consultations and Workshops

Are you interested in strengthening your data analytics skills, gaining facility with computational resources or data management strategies to support research, leveraging Canvas and other digital tools in your instructional design, or learning how to engage with new AV equipment? If so, Northwestern IT has a support team for that, offering a robust set of workshops and consultations throughout the year open to all students, faculty, and staff.

The Research Computing Services team provides computing resources and data management services to support Northwestern researchers across all disciplines. Researchers can benefit from a host of supports that range from workshops and webinars to individual consultations with experts. Connect with Teaching and Learning Technologies

The Teaching and Learning Technologies team partners with faculty to foster innovative learning experiences by exploring effective teaching techniques and technologies. Interested instructors can register for a workshop or explore a set of self-paced, on-demand training courses designed to help instructors gain proficiency in Zoom, Canvas, and Panopto. Instructors can also access news and tips related to learning resources through the Canvas Minute and The Canvas Post.

Audio-Visual Support

Learn more about Classroom AV Support

As instructors return to campus classrooms, they are finding enhanced classroom technology introduced to meet the demand for audio-visual offerings that allow instructors to connect with remote students. This new videoconferencing and recording hardware, microphones and cameras, and customized features are available in many rooms across campus. The new technology offers many possibilities to those looking to include digital components in the classroom experience. The AV Support team provides one-on-one consultations to guide instructors in making the most of the new equipment. To schedule an AV orientation, contact the AV support at 847-467-7666 (7-ROOM) or smartcls@northwestern.edu. Please include your availability, the location for training, and a contact number.

Data Management and Analytics 

The Northwestern IT Data Management and Analytics team partners with the Office of Institutional Research to offer a webinar series designed for Northwestern business analysts, administrators, and others interested in exploring best practices and opportunities to manage data. Participants learn how to reveal insights and identify new solutions through data management, connect with like-minded peers across the University, and hear directly from experts. The learning series supports the growing demand for a more holistic and multidisciplinary view of University data. The next webinar is scheduled for October 13 and will focus on exploring features of Tableau Creator.
