Social Sciences Computing Cluster Overview

The Social Sciences Computing Cluster (SSCC) supports the research and teaching activities of social sciences faculty and their graduate students. Customized for Northwestern researchers in the social sciences, the SSCC provides an advanced computational capability and a rich suite of analytical software applications.  The SSCC provides resources for University researchers to perform computational activities that are not available on standard desktop computers.

Computing Services

The SSCC currently supports users using the web browser based RStudio and SAS Studio programs.  Additionally, users may use a variety of software programs by connecting directly to the SSCC login nodes.

SSCC Funding

Recurring funding for the SSCC is provided by Office of the President, Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, Kellogg School of Management, the School of Professional Studies, and Northwestern Information Technology.

Accessing the SSCC

A user account is required to access the SSCC. Accounts may be established by completing the SSCC Account request form.  New users not using the SSCC for coursework should instead look at using Quest.
