What's New and Changing

New Release of SPSS Available

Northwestern University Information Technology (NUIT) has released the latest version of software from SPSS Inc., SPSS Version 12.0 for Windows. SPSS Inc. considers its SPSS software suite to be your complete statistical toolkit. SPSS version 12.0 offers better reporting capabilities, improved data and output management, and new add-on modules. In addition, new with this release is a separate, online documentation CD containing comprehensive user guides. This documentation CD is available for $15.

Impact on End User

Users who have a current SPSS Windows license may upgrade to the new version of the software free of charge if downloaded from NUIT's software server or can purchase media for installation for $15.

Users who own an FY03 SPSS license may purchase an SPSS 12.0 Windows License Renewal with Upgrade for $125. Users with fully expired licenses (non FY03 or FY04) and all other, new users may purchase the new SPSS 12.0 software for the initial license price of $250.

How to...

To request a free upgrade (and the $15 documentation CD), send the following information, which can be obtained from your last order, to questions@software.northwestern.edu.

  • Order number
  • CUFS number
  • Department name
  • Manager's name

Please include the NetID of the individual who will be installing the software.

Those who wish to install using media can purchase the CD for $15 by contacting questions@software.northwestern.edu.
